Mobility during your study course
General information
In the context of EU mobility, you can also study in other member states for up to 360 days without a German residence permit (with the exception of Ireland and Denmark), if you already have a residence permit for study purposes from another member state. Your residence permit must be valid for the entire duration of the stay in Germany.
You need only an entitlement to stay in Germany, which is issued by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. You can find more information about mobility procedures on the website of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
For study trips of more than 360 days in Germany, you normally need a visa for entry and a residence permit for a study course in order to continue your residence.
