LVB: Efficient public transport for Leipzig
In 2021, Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) spent over 100 million Euro to improve the effectiveness of its network. Its investments in new rolling stock, track network and new services enable a superb public transport system for the economic area and its many stakeholders. To make public transport even more attractive to customers, LVB is also adopting new technology such as Project ABSOLUT, which provides for the deployment of self-driving vehicles. A key role is also played by the introduction of electric buses and modern, passenger-friendly trams. In keeping with the spirit of this outward-looking city and its peaceful citizens, LVB celebrated the 150th anniversary of trams in Leipzig with the European Tram Drivers’ Championships, a major event with participants from twenty nations.
