Under the title '...and a thousand miles behind', the exhibition will be related in thematic terms to the thousand-year anniversary of the first mention of Leipzig in historical records. Artists are invited to base their projects on historical or present-day topics relating to the city, and to do so in an artistic format which will invite observers to think deeply about the subject.
Interested artists will find details of the invitation to submit their works on the Internet at http://youngcontemporary.de/kuenstlerausschreibung-2015/.
During its four-week period last year's "ArtWalk - Park" exhibition attracted around 250,000 visitors. <link freizeit-kultur-und-tourismus parks-waelder-und-friedhoefe parks-und-gruenanlagen clara-zetkin-park>Clara-Zetkin-Park along the pedestrian walkway covering Anton-Bruckner-Allee, Brahmsplatz and Franz-Schubert-Platz became a meeting point for both art lovers and people looking for rest and relaxation, while linking the art centres of Leipzig's city centre with the galleries in Plagwitz. "You can't miss it because you walk right past it" is the recipe for success of this young series of events.
