Domestic and sexualised violence
Domestic and sexualised violence are still a depressing reality today. 68 percent of the victims of domestic violence among the crimes logged in Saxony are women (source: Saxon State Criminal Investigation Department, 2016). While the number of victims of sexual crimes has declined slightly, the number of victims of sexual abuse among children and young people has grown all over Saxony during the last few years. Of the 1,856 victims who were recorded as having been subjected to sexual crimes, 1,493 were women and 363 men. There were 850 children, 266 young people, 119 adolescents and 621 adults among the victims (source: Police Criminal Statistics in Saxony, 2014).
