Women
Women still suffer disadvantages in many areas of life today – for example, in the jobs market or in tax law. There is a shortage of women in certain professions or sectors – higher up the career ladder, for example.
The traditional distribution of roles between men and women is being reinforced as a result of mini-jobs in conjunction with splitting income taxation between couples and health insurance that covers the members of a family without the need for couples to pay any additional contributions. Women still largely assume responsibility for the housework and bringing up the children and therefore have a lower income – and therefore a lower pension. Combining a family and a job should be a topic for men and women to the same degree.
A just and fair society still needs a structural and additional boost for women so that the current general conditions change and equal opportunities can be achieved between the sexes.
Some elements have already been accomplished – but there is still a great deal to do!
