Climbing and bouldering
Rock climbers can enjoy lots of natural climbing opportunities in the immediate surroundings of Leipzig, with the quarries near Brandis/Beucha and the Hohburger Berge, both to the north-east of the city, as popular destinations. However, there are also climbing facilities within Leipzig.
'No Limit' climbing centre
The 'No Limit' climbing centre is located at Dessauer Straße 2 and is the largest of its kind in central Germany. It has indoor climbs covering a wide range of difficulty, including challenging overhangs. In addition there are numerous bouldering facilities both indoors and outdoors, while one boulder area contains a slackline on which users can practis e keeping their balance. The centre is also a regular venue for competitions and offers courses for schools and beginners.

Leipzig-Mockau climbing tower
The Leipzig-Mockau climbing tower is located at Tauchauer Straße 14 and offers, among other features, Germany's longest indoor and outdoor climbing routes. There's a bouldering area on the ground floor, and the operators also offer courses for schools and beginners.
K4 artificial cliff
The K4 artificial cliff, which was constructed by the "WOGETRA" cooperative using slabs from demolished buildings and shotcrete, is located in Leipzig-Grünau. Since 2012 it has been operated by the Leipzig section of the German Alpine Association. To use the cliff an admission ticket is required, which can be obtained for an annual fee of €25 (€15 to members of the Alpine Association) from the Leipzig section of the German Alpine Association or at the "Guter Griff" shop at Angerstraße 53.
