Directly across from the Zoo's main entrance is a parking garage with more than 1,300 parking spaces. If this garage is full, you can park in one of the many other parking garages in the city centre.

5 hours and longer: € 6.00 for a day ticket
Park+Ride
For a relaxing journey, we recommend that you take advantage of the P+R lots in the Leipzig area, all of which are indicated by signs on the autobahn. Trams from these lots will bring you directly to the Goerdelerring or Wilhelm-Liebknecht-Platz stops. From there, simply follow the paw prints to find the Zoo.
Traveling by train
Train travel is the most convenient way to get to the Zoo. From the centrally-located Central Railway Station, you can walk or take tram line 12. With the purchase of a "Zoo Leipzig MobilTicket", you get a combined ticket for Zoo entrance, bus and tram - print it out, ride on over and start exploring!
Traveling by tram
Getting to the Zoo by tram is easy and fast. Line 12 in the direction of "Gohlis-Nord" travels from the Central Railway Station to the Zoo in only 3 stops - you only need a short-route ticket (Kurzstrecke). If you are traveling on lines 9, 10, 11 or 16, get out at the Wilhelm-Liebknecht-Platz stop. Lines 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14 and 15 bring you to the Goerdelerring stop.
Walking directions
Leipzig Zoo is centrally located in the city centre and can be quickly reached by foot. If arriving by train at Central Station or traveling by tram, follow the signs for the Zoo once you get out. Paw prints on the sidewalk show you the way.
- The Meanders' Route: from Central Station, 820 metres (0.5 miles)
- The Explorer's Gorge: from the Goerdelerring stop, 630 metres (0.4 miles)
- The Jungle Pathway: from the Wilhelm-Liebknecht-Platz stop, 570 metres (0.35 miles)
Getting to the Zoo by bicycle
The Zoo is conveniently accessible from the bicycle route network in Leipzig. Those coming from further distances can bring their bikes on the train and pedal the last bit of the way. Bicycle stands are located across from the main entrance between the two parking garages. Helmets can be conveniently stored in the lockers located at the Zoo entrance.
Traveling with a touring bus
On Parthenstraße, directly across from the main entrance to the Zoo, there are five bus-park spaces. These are pay-to-park spaces and cost € 2.00 per 30 minutes. For long-term parking, between dropping off and picking up passengers, it is recommended that bus drivers use the bus parking spaces located on the east side of Central Station.
