His advice for the visitors: "Due to the good connections through the City Tunnel, you can leave your car at home." Guests can also use the possibility of Park & Ride.

500 years of tradition within modern times
The tradition of the Leipzig Christmas Market goes back to 1458. The Market is located within the historical scenery of the city of Leipzig, as it has been for the last 500 years. With more than 250 decorated stands it fulfils its reputation of being one of the biggest and most beautiful Christmas Markets in Germany again.
But the Market keeps with the times: The online presence of the Leipzig Christmas Market within the portal of the City on www.leipzig.de/weihnachtsmarkt has been extended (sorry, in German only).
Each hut has a number. This number as well as the respective range and the corporate name of the stands can be found on a list of distributors. That makes it easy for the visitors to find their favourite stand on the market.
Surveying the Market's visitors
The Market Office and the Office for Statistics and Elections will survey visitors, distributors and travel organisers to increase the attractiveness of the Leipzig Christmas Market. The results will be evaluated, published and will be part of future planning.
